Enchong Dee at UAAP Magazine 2014

“Enchong Dee is a De La Salle Green Tanker from UAAP Season 70 (2007), 71 (2008) and 72 (2009) and he was the architect of three straight MVP titles and seven gold medals in swimming in 2007, 2008 and 2009, it was originally supposed for the UAAP Magazine’s third issue in 2012 just in time for the 75th UAAP Swimming Competition at TRACE Aquatic Sports Complex in Los Baños, Laguna from September 27 to 30, 2012.

It’s a regular feature for the Magazine itself with a pictorial and interview written by Julian Mauricio. The project was “Enchong Dee at UAAP Magazine: Dee-man” will be on hold indefinitely due to his busy schedule for the taping of ABS-CBN’s primetime drama series Ina, Kapatid, Anak in he which starring Kim Chiu, Xian Lim and Maja Salvador. Instead, he defended the move, citing several reasons.

However, he did not participate because of schedule conflict in March 2010, and he cannot go to the 73rd UAAP Swimming Championship in September 2010. Dee is now a television and movie actor and he is no longer actively training. It is expected to feature again in the Magazine just in time for the 5th anniversary of his graduation in La Salle this July 20, 2014 for his pictorial and interview, and it released in time for the 77th UAAP Swimming Competition in late-September 2014.

(Editor-in-Chief Jinno Rufino’s Note: Due to the 2-day 30th Barrio Fiesta in London for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of The Filipino Channel (TFC), Enchong Dee was unable to shoot for the magazine’s regular feature and reschedule to 2nd week of August 2014, a week after the opening of the movie “Once A Princess” starring Erich Gonzales and JC de Vera, due to the approval of UAAP Magazine Editorial Board.)

The reason why is Enchong Dee is longer anymore a competitive swimmer, member of the Philippine national swimming team, and participant of the UAAP Swimming Championship for 2 seasons (Season 73-2010 and Season 74-2011) and he is not retired?”

But, it was originally in time for the 75th Season of the UAAP in 2012, a year after the 100 years of  De La Salle in 2011, the plans for the Magazine’s 3rd issue with pictorial and interview written by Julian Mauricio of sister magazine “StarStudio”, the regular feature was supposed this 2012, it was put on hold indefinitely due to his busy schedule for the taping of ABS-CBN’s primetime drama series Ina, Kapatid, Anak in he which starring Kim Chiu, Xian Lim and Maja Salvador.

For several reasons, the UAAP magazine staff wanted Dee would feature again this 2014 because of more issues in 2015 (Season 78), ’16 (Season 79), 17 (Season 80), ’18 (Season 81) and ’19 (Season 82) due to the contract between the League and the Network.

“We will elevate to the Supreme Court of the Philippines urging the Actor’s personal reasons and causing Dee’s participation as a swimmer for De La Salle Green Tankers, because, the presidency of Benigno Aquino the Third would cause na hindi papahinga sa swimming career si Enchong Dee ayaw na mag-retiro sa swimming,” ABS-CBN reporter TJ Manotoc posted on Twitter about Dee’s career as a swimmer anymore?
